EVENTS FOR THE HOLIDAYS

PARRANDA: ‘A PUERTO RICAN CHRISTMAS,’ Hostos Center for Arts and Culture, 450 Grand Concourse, at 149th Street, Mott Haven, the Bronx. Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., traditional Puerto Rican Christmas songs performed by the group Zon del Barrio. HARLEM HERITAGE TOURS Friday and Saturday, 6:30 to 11:30 p.m., “Jazz Nights in Harlem Walking Tour” passes sites of musical significance and includes stops for a meal and a jazz show, meeting at Starbucks on the southeast corner of 125th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard. SHOREWALKERS Saturday at 10 a.m., a Bronx walk from the Grand Concourse along the Harlem River to Hunts Point, meeting on the northwest corner of the Grand Concourse and 149th Street. (212) 330-7686. Donation, $3; free for members.

BARTOW-PELL MANSION, 895 Shore Road North, Pelham Bay Park, the Bronx. The museum, on a nine-acre site, exhibits fine and decorative arts from the 19th century. Saturday at noon and 2 p.m., and Sunday at noon (the 2 p.m. show is full), the story of Dutch Sinterklaas, a Colonial holiday, told with music and narrative by the Bronx Arts Ensemble; free, but reservations are required: (718) 601-7399. Saturday at 5, 6 and 7 p.m., a candlelight tour of the house and six Christmas trees decorated in the theme of “The Nutcracker”; $12; $8 for students and 65+; free for children under 6; $10 and $5 for members.
