Obama Book Display at Barnes & Noble Features a Volume Titled 'Monkeys'

A viral image in which a book called Monkeys is featured prominently in a Barnes & Noble window display devoted to Barack Obama has elicited widespread criticism and a public apology from the U.S. bookseller. The photo, snapped recently at the company's Coral Gables, Florida location by an unknown photographer, is authentic.
"We believe that a customer played a cruel joke and placed an inappropriate title in the front window of our store," said Barnes & Noble spokesperson Mary Ellen Keating in a public statement. "We are looking into it and are taking the steps necessary so that it does not happen again."
