Central Park Jogger Case Back In Court
Five Black & Latino Exonerated Youth Seek Justice in Federal Court
Friday, August 22, 2008 at 10:00 AM
U.S. District Court
Southern District of New York
500 Pearl Street, Downtown, NYC
On Friday, August 22, 2008 at 10 a.m. there will be a court appearance regarding the civil suit filed by the Central Park 5 for their unjust conviction of the 1989 attack and rape of the “Central Park Jogger.”
The case will be heard in the courtroom of Judge Deborah Batts at the Federal District Court House at 500 Pearl Street Downtown Manhattan (take train to any of the stops near City Hall). The civil suit seeking damages was filed more than five years ago but the defendants, City of New York, New York City Police Department are trying to drag out the case.
It is important that the community support these young men and to let the City know that we have not forgotten the racism which robbed five innocent men of years of their lives and nearly led to their execution.
