Weekend Bridge and Street Closures - August 16-17
The 145th Street Bridge will be closed from 12:01 am to 7:00 am on Saturday.
Motorists and pedestrians may use the Macombs Dam Bridge or the Madison Avenue
Bridge. No bridge closures will commence until two hours following the
completion of the Yankees night game.
The exit and entrance to the southbound Brooklyn Queens Expressway at Atlantic
Avenue/Columbia Street will be closed from 10:00 pm Friday to 5:00 am Monday to
facilitate roadway/ramp work by the Department of Design and Construction.
Motorists should use the Brooklyn Bridge/Cadman Plaza West exit. Motorists
wishing to enter the BQE at Atlantic Avenue/Columbia Street should use the
Hamilton Avenue southbound entrance. Columbia Street will be one way southbound
from Atlantic Avenue to Congress Street. Northbound traffic should detour onto
Congress Street to Hicks Street.
One of three lanes in each direction of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway between
61st Street and Broadway, and the BQE westbound ramp to Queens Boulevard, will
be closed from 11:00 pm Friday through 5:00 am Monday to facilitate NY State DOT
pavement reconstruction.
Mulberry Street between Canal Street and Broome Street in Manhattan will be
closed 11:00 am to 6:00 pm through September 7 for the Mulberry Street
Pedestrian Mall.
West 135th Street between 5th Avenue and St. Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan will
be closed Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm for Harlem Week.
The following streets will be closed on Saturday:
- Centre Street between the Brooklyn Bridge exit and Reade Street; Lafayette
Street between Reade Street and 9th Street; Wanamaker Place/4th Avenue between
10th and 14th Streets; Park Avenue between 14th and 72nd Streets; and 72nd
Street between Park and 5th Avenues in Manhattan will be closed 7:00 am to 1:00
pm for Summer Streets.
- Water Street between Fulton and Broad Streets in Manhattan will be closed
11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Seaport Community Coalition.
- Waverly Place between Broadway and 5th Avenue in Manhattan will be closed
11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Stonewall Democratic Club Festival.
- 6th Avenue between 14th and 23rd Streets in Manhattan will be closed 11:00 am
to 6:00 pm for the 23rd Street Association.
- 93rd Street between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues in Manhattan will be closed
10:00 am to 6:00 pm for Family Day.
- 135th Street between 5th Avenue and St. Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan will be
closed 10:00 am to 8:00 pm for Harlem Week.
The following streets will be closed on Sunday:
- Orchard Street between Stanton and Rivington Streets in Manhattan will be
closed 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm for Fashion Show Block Show.
- 40th and 41st Streets between Park and 5th Avenues; the west side of Park
Avenue between 40th and 42nd Streets; and Madison Avenue from 41st Street to
27th Street in Manhattan will be closed 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Indian Day
Parade & Festival.
- Lexington Avenue between 42nd and 57th Streets in Manhattan will be closed
11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the East 55th Street Conservative Synagogue Festival.
- 135th Street between 5th Avenue and St. Nicholas Avenue in Manhattan will be
closed 10:00 am to 8:00 pm for Harlem Week.
Nostrand Avenue between Empire Boulevard and Clarkson Avenue in Brooklyn will be
closed 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Nostrand Avenue Merchants Festival.
- Coney Island Avenue between Avenue H and Newkirk Avenue in Brooklyn will be
closed 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Pakistani-American Festival.
- Myrtle Avenue between Fresh Pond Road and Forest Avenue in Queens will be
closed 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for the Kiwanis Club of Glendale.
