FREEZE #3: ACTION AT THE STATEN ISLAND FERRY TERMINAL
Wednesday, August 6th
Meet at 5:00 PM lower Manhattan, under the “Staten Island Ferry blue sign” outside the terminal.
You can take the #1 train to the South Ferry.
We will enter into the terminal, with our team leaders and instructions on how to “freeze” as people arrive. It is great to freeze in an action position, like reaching up, or bending over, or whatever will attract attention to our message! We will take the escalator up to the main level where the entrance to the ferry is and that is where we will all participate in the action.
Freeze to occur at precisely 5:30. A signal will be given when the action will start, probably a whistle. We will hold our poses for 5 minutes, and at the end of that time, you will hear another signal and then we will chant “NO ATTACK ON IRAN!”
We will have legal observers present, and have been in touch with the NYPD who is in charge of security inside the terminal. If you are asked by the NYPD, or any other law enforcement member to stop chanting, then please do so immediately, we do not want to see anyone summonsed.
We will have t-shirts, and NO ATTACK ON IRAN signs to affix to your own shirts, or bags. The message that unites all of us is just that: we are demanding that there is and never will be an attack on Iran!
After the freeze action we will be gathering across the street in Battery Park to discuss the action, meet each other and plan future actions!
