Are your kids suffering the winter doldrums? Wondering what to do with Them while they're home for winter break?   We have several programs designed just for your kids! Come out to the Park and enjoy what Nature has to offer.   Ages 8 to 12   Part of the Your Park Is Nature's Classroom for Kids series   *Plant Survival Strategies*   Wednesday, February 22   1:00 PM   Inwood Hill Park - Meet at the park entrance at Seaman Avenue & Isham Street   Ever wonder how your favorite park's trees survive big city life, Especially in the winter? Join environmental educator, Robin Sanchez, In an exploration of plant survival strategies in an urban park! Kids Will participate in a fun group investigation of plant characteristics Fit for survival, allowing kids to observe and examine plants found in Inwood Hill Park.   *Where Does Our Drinking Water Come From?*   Thursday, February 23   1:00 PM   Highbridge Park - Meet at the entrance to Highbridge Recreation Center At W. 173rd Street & Amsterdam Avenue   Using a playful approach, environmental educator Robin Sanchez will Lead kids on an investigation into the source of New York's delicious And safe drinking water. Kids will consider:     Who used water today? How did you use it? Where did it come from?   Why was the High Bridge built?   What is a watershed?   What does it mean to conserve water?   Activities will include discussions and hands-on activities.   Ages 4 to 7   Part of the Children's Naturalist Series   *Heather! Come Hither!*   Sunday, February 26   1:00 PM   Fort Tryon Park - Meet at the entrance to the Heather Garden on Margaret Corbin Circle where Cabrini Boulevard and Fort Washington Avenue converge   What is heather? What is a heath? How can they have flowers in winter? Julia Attaway, children's naturalist educator, will lead kids through The Heather Garden to find out all about these very special plants. Appropriate for children ages 4-7, who must accompanied by an adult.   These are outdoor programs so please dress accordingly. In the event Of the following weather conditions, the programs will be canceled:     More than 3 inches of snow   Heavy rain   Temperatures less than 20 degrees F   These programs were made possible through the generosity of the Greenacre Foundation and the Fort Tryon Park Trust.
